Welcome

Welcome to Everyday DBT and Dave Rich, LCSW-C, a private practice based in Baltimore, MD. Dave practices Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a skills-based behavioral therapy that helps people of all ages regulate emotions and live a life of value.

About Dave Rich

I have practiced DBT w/ teens, pre-teens, parents, young adults and adults since 2014. I love finding creative ways to increase connection with families, improve confidence and success with pre-teens, teens, and adults, and most importantly help people act wisely in difficult moments.

I love the skills and theories used in DBT, and I also have experience incorporating principles and skills of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy into my behavioral work.

Approach to Therapy

I think that a relaxed approach to therapy is crucial. Therapy can be both serious and fun in solving life’s problems, and we all have the capacity to feel contentment and joy no matter what the circumstances. I hope to help bring on these positive emotions while we work on tolerating the negative and focus on any needed change.

I use skills found in the DBT Skills Manual 2nd Edition (Linehan, 2015) with individuals, families, and also in specific skills groups beginning Fall 2024. DBT skills can help improve many moments, especially at times when we are overwhelmed and are not sure what to do. DBT skills are best practiced in daily situations and can be relied on when life gets tough.
